The things I carry…
This post is inspired by the novel, “The Things They Carried”, by Tim O’Brien. Very good book, it puts a very human perspective on war. My list puts a very mentally ill perspective on me.
I generally carry two bags, my manbag, and my backpack. We’ll start with the manbag.
Five black ink pens, Uniballs. .007 and ,005′s. I like pens.
A mechanical pencil, with a pak of replacement leads.
Sharpies, black and red, double sided. Duh. everybody should be this sick.
A yellow highlighter.
A small bottle of Ibuprofen, cause something is always swelling or throbbing.
A small container of Vick’s or Mentholatum, you can never have enough salve.
My old iPod Nano, mostly as a storage device.
A thumbdrive.
Bic lighter.
Superglue. No, I don’t sniff it.
An iTrip for my old iPod, so I can listen over my car radio.
Folding utility knife.
A cigar cutter.
My wallet. Without your bankcard and ID, your pond scum.
A picture of my grandson.
Spare headphones.
Change purse. THAT’S RIGHT, A CHANGE PURSE, WHAT ABOUT IT!!!
Finger nail clippers
Floss.
A Tape measure.
Note pad.
iPhone. Without your personal communicator, you might as well slit your own throat with your folding utility knife.
Two pieces of polystyrene I intended as dividers to organize my bits of paper…HAAA!
A pouch that I keep my iPhone headphones, instruction booklet, power cord and adapter.
A Zip disk.
Keys. Without these your nothing.
I’m gonna have to continue this, my backpack is a quadruple the sickness and I’m tired.
P.S.- I had my first Jubel Ale of the year. Always a wonderful time of year. And I’m listening to
“The, The- Dusk. Great Album.
